Sosalt was founded in 1922. The goal was and still is to harvest sea salt without disturbing the local eco-system. The main feature of the salt extraction technique adopted in the Trapani Salt works is the natural evaporation of sea water.
About Trapani Sea Salt
Sosalt - sea salt comes from the ancient salt-works at Trapani and Marsala, where the sea is crystal-clear and, together with the strength of the sun and the wind, gives a salt that is particularly rich in the valuable oligoelements contained in the sea water(Magnesium, Potassium and Iodine), making it more soluble and complete.
The Company ensures that the provisions of UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 standards are strictly followed. The Kosher certification was awarded by the OU (Orthodox Jewish Congregation of America).
